Adapt, innovate and overcome…
I met Abraham Lincoln today. No, I haven’t gone mad (though an 8-hour tour of a battle site might have been enough to affect a lesser person), I really did.
We spent the day at Gettysburg, the site of one of the key battles in the American civil war, to learn about leadership the US way – which basically meant learning to adapt, innovate and overcome. That’s adapt, innovate and overcome. One more time? Adapt, innovate… enough now.
It was an interesting way to learn about leadership – who’da thunk I’d ever find myself applying battle tactics to agriculture and actually see the relevance – but it was topped of with a slightly surreal Q&A session with old Abe himself.
Some people got a little more excited about the visit than was probably healthy.
